Sophie Naud

Sophie graduated Yale University in 2023, where she completed a 4-year joint BS/MS program in Biomedical Engineering. She is currently a Senior Research Associate in Biomedical Engineering at biotech startup Selux Diagnostics in Charlestown, MA. Sophie is from Orange County, California and began dancing at the age of 3. She began her pre-professional ballet training at age 13 at Maple Conservatory of Dance in Irvine, CA and attended summer programs at the School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Joffrey Ballet. At age 14, she moved to NYC to attend the School of American Ballet full-time, where she studied all four years of high school. She spent her summers training on merit scholarship at Boston Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet. At SAB, Sophie performed George Balanchine’s Bourree Fantasque and excepts from The Nutcracker, Serenade, and Raymonda Variations, in addition to a world premiere by Alec Knight. After graduating SAB, Sophie moved to New Haven, CT to attend Yale University and joined YaleDancers, where she performed in ballet, contemporary, jazz, musical theater, and more throughout her four years of study. She also worked in multiple biomedical engineering research labs and was a part of student-run biotech startup Simplex Sciences. She received the Biomedical Engineering Department Prize for her work and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Sophie is very excited to continue dancing and performing with Harvard Ballet Company!
