Mia Kwong ‘30
Mia is a first-year at Harvard College planning to concentrate in Psychology and Sociology. Born in New York City, she began her early studies at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center and American Ballet Theatre’s JKO School. Mia received her formal training at Boston Ballet School’s Professional Division at Walnut Hill and later Canada’s National Ballet School, where she graduated in 2025. While at NBS, she had the opportunity to perform soloist roles in George Balanchine’s Serenade and Haieff Divertimento, as well as Esie Menshah’s Eshi and James Kudelka’s Lay Dances. For the 2025-2026 season, Mia joined Boston Ballet’s Donna Egan Graduate Program. During her time there, she danced alongside Boston Ballet II and in main company productions, including Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, Sir Frederick Ashton’s Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, and Daniel Rubin’s No Smoke, Just Mirrors. A recent highlight was dancing in the inaugural Midsommardans Festival this past summer, which brought together an international cohort of dancers to perform in the Swedish archipelago. There, she danced an excerpt from Pierre Lacotte’s La Sylphide, Anna Hughlett’s Quartet, and Epariter, a new work by festival co-director Emma Wheeler. Mia is thrilled to continue dancing with HBC this upcoming year!
