Nana Shigematsu ‘28
Nana Shigematsu is a sophomore studying Health Science at Boston University. She was born in Osaka, Japan, and moved to New York City at age 7. She trained at Manhattan Youth Ballet for eight years, under the training of Deborah Wingert and Daniel Ulbricht. Throughout her time there, she performed roles in ballets such as Balanchine's "Divertimento No. 15" and "Diamonds" along with contemporary pieces choreographed by Earl Mosley. Additionally, Nana performed in the 2022 Dance Against Cancer benefit under the direction of Daniel Ulbricht. Nana spent her summers attending summer intensive programs at Central Pensylvania Youth Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Boston Ballet, and John Cranko Ballet. Nana is super excited for her second semester performing at HBC!
