Margaret Holland

Margaret spent her early years in Northern California where she started dancing at the age of 4, studying classical ballet and performing in productions such as the Sleeping Beauty and the Wizard of Oz. After moving to Virginia at the age of 13, Margaret started dancing at the Loudoun School of Ballet where she completed the highest level of study and was offered the opportunity to continue professional training. She ended up pursuing a career in medicine, but committed to never stop dancing throughout her education and continued professional training at every opportunity. Now a full time PA in pediatric cardiac surgery, Margaret has worked hard to maintain her passion for ballet which has meant taking classes after long days in the operating room and at times even dancing with a pager attached to her leotard! In 2018, Margaret joined a local Washington DC company called Classical Repertory Dance Ensemble and performed excerpts from Giselle along with several other works by local choreographers. After moving to Boston, she was a guest artist for Tony William's Urban Nutcracker (2019, 2022) and then joined the Harvard Ballet Company (HBC) in early 2020. Since then, she has been performing with HBC as well joining the board for season 2020-2021 and choreographing pieces for HBC productions Solstice (2020), Renewal (2021), and Technique (2021). For the 2021 to 2022 season she joined the New York Dance Project (NYDP), a hybrid dance company in New York City where she performed roles such as the Dance of the Little Swans (Swan Lake) and musical theatre.
