Catherine Qin

Catherine Qin (she/her/hers) is the President of the Harvard Ballet Company Graduate Board. She graduated from the College in 2017 with an A.B. in English Literature and a secondary in Economics. During her time at Harvard, she served as Treasurer, Co-Director, and Co-Producer on HBC’s Undergraduate Board, most notably writing and co-directing two original story ballets based on Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book (spring 2015) and Lois Lowry’s The Giver (fall 2015). Her favorite memory with HBC is getting to share opening night of The Giver with Lois Lowry herself.

Born and raised in the Boston area, Catherine now lives in Seattle, Washington. While she spends her weekdays working on content strategy for Microsoft’s Xbox subscriptions, dance continues to be an important part of her life, whether through performing in local dance festivals, taking open class at Pacific Northwest Ballet, or showing up to support Seattle dance companies. When she isn’t in the office or the studio, you can find her outside – hiking, skiing, or en route from one new city to the next.

Ask her about: a career in business/entertainment/tech, humanities at Harvard, and ways to keep moving in the Pacific Northwest.
