Benjamin Brown ‘29
Benjamin Brown is a freshman at Boston University, studying Hospitality and Communications. A native of Madison, Wisconsin, he spent his formative years dancing locally and at summer intensives like Joffrey Chicago, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Nutmeg Ballet. Aside from ballet, he started working in a restaurant and wine bar at age 14, falling in love with the industry.
After his junior year of high school, Ben moved to Chicago to be a Joffrey Ballet Trainee. He then joined the Carolina Ballet in Raleigh, North Carolina, his favorite roles in George Balanchine's Scotch Symphony and Lynne Taylor Corbett's Carmina Burana.
In January, Ben parted ways with the company to pursue his long-held dream of opening a restaurant. He gained invaluable experience staging in both the front and back of house at various Chicago restaurants, before joining the opening team for Yaya, the second restaurant from the team at Michelin-starred Galit.
Ben is very excited to be dancing with Harvard Ballet!
