Mari Chen-Fiske ‘23
Mari Chen-Fiske is a freshman at Harvard from Winchester, Massachusetts. She plans on studying Sociology. She began dancing at Ballet Arts Centre in Winchester, but moved to Boston Ballet School at age thirteen, studying under Margaret Tracey. In her junior year of high school, she was invited to enter Boston Ballet’s two-year Trainee program. She has performed with Boston Ballet’s corps de ballet in works including August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, George Balanchine’s Chaconne, Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty, and John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet. In January of 2018, she was invited to be the female representative for Boston Ballet School at the Prix de Lausanne’s Choreographic Project in Lausanne, Switzerland. The group was part of an original work by Goyo Montero entitled Pulse. Outside of HBC, she hopes to join the Taiwanese Cultural Society, Smart Woman Securities, and the Harvard Climbing Club. She is looking forward to a great year with HBC!
