Hwei-Shin Harriman ‘21
Hwei-Shin Harriman is a second year undergraduate student at Olin College of Engineering. She is from Novato, CA and trained at City Ballet School of San Francisco and San Francisco Ballet School before joining the trainee program at Dutch National Ballet. As a student, she performed both classical and contemporary works, including Myrtha in Giselle, Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, Queen of the Dryads in Don Quixote, Symphonic by Parrish Maynard, Yondering by John Neumeier,Handel: A Celebration by Helgi Tomasson, and Waltz of the Flowers in Helgi Tomasson’s Nutcracker. While at Dutch National she worked with several Dutch choreographers, including Nils Christie, Ted Brandsen, and rehearsed repertoire from pieces choreographed by David Dawson and Christopher Wheeldon. This past summer she joined the part-time faculty of Marin Dance Theater, where she taught and rehearsed the intermediate and advanced pre-professional students. This is Hwei-Shin’s first year with Harvard Ballet Company, and she is thrilled to be a part of the company!
